The first Korean concept optical shop in the Philippines, Starfinder Optical, released a whole new nifty and hypoallergenic specs last April 8, 2019. What is Starfinder Optical? Well it was first established in the year 2007, offering trendy prescription eyewear in Seohyun Rodeo Street, a popular place for urban street fashion in South Korea. Lately, the company expanded its footprint in Ayala Center Cebu. Standing strongly in different areas, Starfinder Optical is one of the pioneers of an open display system, wherein the brand displays multiple specs in open showcases. The company also gives a different ambiance and offers free services to the public such as eye check-up and specs cleaning.

Jacob Song, Marketing Manager, stated, “Because of high demand for hypoallergenic eyewear, the brand decided to produce this revolutionary product to help people prevent allergic reaction while wearing our eyeglasses.” This quarter, the brand started a social media campaign called #WeAreStarfinder to inform everyone that Starfinder Optical is a go-to fashion eyewear shop, where people have the freedom to choose a certain eyewear and be fashionable, without considering what other people may think. Im super excited to collaborate with this brand since I'm actually wearer of prescription glasses. Yep, MY.GLASSES.ARE.GRADED. It's not for the sake of styling only.
Last April 12, 2019, I got a chance to experience the whole process of getting my brand new specs from Starfinder at one of their 15 branches: Ayala Mall the 30th, Pasig City. Together with few of my blogger friends, We tested out a wide range of glasses suitable for everyone.
After choosing our desired glasses, each one of us had our eyes checked by their own in-house ophthalmologist.
I personally chose the newly-released specs, Spika, is an edgy eyewear fit for people who want to standout. The product was exclusively developed in South Korea, which is a one-of-a-kind specs that is both hypoallergenic and lightweight. In addition, it is made from various special materials such as Titanium and Stainless steel that make it extremely durable. This line has a wide range of designs perfect for different mood. The eyewear is available in different colors such as Gold, Silver, Copper and Rose Gold. A pair of Spika frames plus specialized lenses cost only P1,890 and also include your desired hard case for your eyewear.
VERDICT:
As I entered the establishment, I was immediately welcomed by the friendly, accommodating and knowledgable staff they have. They assisted me throughout the whole process of getting my own eyewear. The ambience is very comfortable and clean giving me that aesthetic feels inside the store. Overall, The service was great. What I love about Starfinder is that the consultation is free of charge without getting any purchase. So you can have your eyes checked first before getting your very own pair of eyewear suitable for you.
